1. Monday's severe weather threat in N.C. includes damaging winds and tornadoes

Strong storms are expected to track from west to east across the state into the night. The Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the state under a Level 2 to 3 threat for severe storms during that time.

2. 'I'm not joking': Trump says he's considering ways to serve a third term as president

NBC's Kristen Welker asked Trump if one potential avenue to a third term was having Vice President JD Vance run for the top job and “then pass the baton to you.” “Well, that’s one,” Trump responded. “But there are others too."

3. Small plane headed for RDU crashes in New Jersey

The Cirrus SR22 crashed in a wooded area in Somerset, New Jersey, Sunday morning shortly after departing from Princeton Airport, according to a release from the Federal Aviation Administration.

4. Grandma Gatewood blazed trails, paving the way for future women

In 2011, it took Pharr Davis 46 days to break records and barriers — she became the fastest person to hike the Appalachian Trail and the first woman to hold the overall record. But that wasn’t Pharr Davis’ first record-breaking hike. She first got the women’s record three years earlier in 2008.
