Mike Solarte — Sports
Mike Solarte is a Chicago native who relocated down south to become an original member of the Spectrum News Charlotte team in 2002. As a Charlotte sports reporter, Mike considers one of the greatest parts of his job to be the ability to tell the stories of some of the greatest athletes in the world. This Associated Press Award winner has no shortage of triumphant sports stories under his belt. When Mike isn’t covering sports or playing golf, he has his hands full with three kids and three dogs.
