It will be a busy week in North Carolina ahead of the Nov. 5 election.
This week, former President Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz will visit North Carolina for a final round of campaign events as Election Day nears.

One of the most watched races for Congress in the country puts two veterans vying to represent eastern North Carolina’s 1st District. The incumbent Democratic Rep. Don Davis is facing a political newcomer, Republican Laurie Buckhout.

2. Farmer determined to rebuild after pumpkin patch was hollowed out by Helene's flooding

A pumpkin patch in Watauga County lost everything in floodwaters caused by Hurricane Helene late last month. The owner says flowers, pumpkins, gourds and nurseries were destroyed by flood waters. She says help is needed to rebuild her fence.

3. Crews, volunteers work to restore Chimney Rock

Crews are working around the clock to restore the mountain community of Chimney Rock, which was nearly wiped off the map by Helene. Several homes and businesses on Main Street (U.S. Hwy 64/74), including the road itself, were washed away when the Rocky Broad River swelled and mudslides followed.
