Good morning, North Carolina! Here's what you need to know today.
Your Weather Planner
As the area of low pressure moved inland Monday, the heaviest rain shifted west along with it. First into the Sandhills where there were isolated tornadoes, then toward the Charlotte and western Piedmont region and finally the mountains Tuesday. Sustained winds of 15-25 mph and gusts of 40-45 mph will be possible, meaning there could be some power outages.
Behind the system, scattered showers are still in the forecast into Wednesday, especially the western half of the state. Scattered shower activity will remain in the forecast for western and eastern N.C. through Friday with less of a chance in the central and western Piedmont.
