Good morning, North Carolina! Here's what you need to know today.

Your Weather Planner

Shower and storm chances will increase across the state as a front slides south today. With the recent heavy scattered storms saturating the ground and more rain on the way, much of the Piedmont is under flood watches through the evening.

The front is expected to drop south of the state Friday. This will lower the chances for rain, especially in the Piedmont and coastal areas into the weekend. The exception will be the mountains, where shower and storm chances will remain elevated into the weekend.

Temperatures will trend cooler over the next couple of days because of cloud cover and periods of showers.
