Trump wins South Carolina primary, beating Haley in her home state

Former President Donald Trump has defeated former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in South Carolina’s Republican presidential primary, continuing his dominant streak in contests for the GOP nomination. Trump's win increases the likelihood of a 2020 rematch against President Joe Biden in November.

Defying calls from South Carolina Republicans to exit the race, Haley planned to travel to Michigan, which holds its primary on Tuesday.
