Charlotte TV station WBTV says crashed helicopter was theirs, identifies victims

The two people killed in the crash were identified by the news station as a meteorologist and a pilot who worked at the station. 

The crash happened before 12:18 p.m., shutting down I-77 south near the Nations Ford Road exit and snarling traffic for hours. At about 4:30 p.m., Charlotte police said they re-opened two southbound lanes on I-77. 

WBTV says meteorologist Jason Myers and pilot Chip Tayag were killed when the station's helicopter, "Sky3," crashed.
