RALEIGH, N.C. -- "Grandma's cooking" reminds many people of home-cooked, hearty meals, and Gret Hatem is no different.
He's the owner of Sitti in downtown Raleigh. Hatem says Sitti means grandmother in Lebanese, and all of the food is inspired by her.
"It's one thing that's passed down from generations. You can make it from a book, but you can’t make it from the book. You have to have someone show you because it's all made by hand," said Hatem.
Sitti's chef makes "Sitti's" original recipes each day, down to the simple plates such as hummus and babgaunush.
Sitti is open:
- Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
- Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
- Sunday noon-10 p.m.
