Kaitlyn Connolly is a reporter for Spectrum News Raleigh, proudly telling the stories from the communities across the Triangle region since May 2019. Prior to this, Kaitlyn spent time reporting at various stations across the country, from Maine to Illinois. When it comes to her inspiration, Kaitlyn loves getting to interact with so many people on a daily basis while simultaneously being challenged each time she is able to learn something new about a topic she’s covering for the first time.
A passionate journalist, Kaitlyn defines any story that informs the public of pertinent information in an efficient and digestible manner as meaningful. More so, Kaitlyn holds a true appreciation for each person who is able to open up and share their story with her. A proud military child, Kaitlyn's worlds collided during her week-long coverage of the veterans within the Wreaths Across America organization. Kaitlyn followed these vets who made the trek from Maine to DC to lay wreaths in honor at the Arlington Ceremony, an experience she’ll always hold close to her heart.
When Kaitlyn isn’t in the newsroom, you can find her spending time with her fiancé, who also happens to be familiar with the industry as a full time sports reporter. In her off time, Kaitlyn usually heads to her hometown of DC to catch up with her friends and family.
