CHARLOTTE, N.C. – At Crispy Banh Mi, the secret ingredient is authenticity.
“I want to bring that taste to Charlotte. A true Vietnamese original,” owner Trung Do says.
Trung Do has lived in the U.S. since an early age. But after a trip to Vietnam in 2014, he and his wife realized what was missing in the Queen City.
The couple opened Crispy Banh Mi to bring a taste of Southeast Asia to South Charlotte (and now a second location, with a third on the way), without altering recipes to make it taste more American.
“Most of my recipes are family recipes,” Do says. “Compared to American food, it's sweet, savory, it’s really nice.”
It's a meal as tasty as it is authentic.
