Good evening, North Carolina. We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

Rain chances will continue for the eastern half of the state through the overnight, and it’ll be another day of haves and have-nots as a cold front and low pressure shift off the coast through the day Thursday.

Rain will be steady and heavy and Flood Watches for the eastern half of the state will stay in effect through the day Thursday. Some rumbles of thunder will also be heard, but just like Wednesday, the chances of severe weather are very low. Rain amounts will be anywhere from a half inch to around four inches in some areas east of I-95 through Thursday afternoon. A silent western half of the state will see clouds through the overnight and into the morning hours and steady clearing into the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will vary overnight from the 30s in the mountains to mid and upper 40s to low and mid-50s from the Piedmont over to the coast. Afternoon temperatures will stay mainly in the mid to upper 50s and low 60s with the cooler locations being the ones that see the most rain.

Good Friday and the upcoming Easter weekend couldn’t look any better with dry and warm conditions expected.
