Good evening, North Carolina. We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

A dry and warm stretch of weather started on Wednesday and will continue for the rest of the week.

Expect a mostly clear night and cooler temperatures overnight for most spots across the state. Temperatures will drop into the low and mid-50s in the mountains, upper 50s to low 60s across the Piedmont, but stay in the upper 60s and low 70s east of I-95.

Thursday afternoon, expect lots of sunshine, lower humidity, but temperatures that are either at or just above average. The only place that will have to put up with the humidity will be the coast. Everyone else will enjoy dry air and no rain chances. We'll see upper 80s to low 90s across most of the state, except for the higher elevations that sit in the low 80s.

More of the same is on the way for Friday as warm temperatures and dry weather rule the forecast.
