Good morning, North Carolina! Here's what you need to know today.

As the world mourns Pope Francis, Argentinians are remembering his heritage and representation of their culture.
Pope Francis was the first Latin American pontiff in history. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and spent the early years of his life as a priest in his home country. His path crossed with the owner of an Argentinian bakery in Raleigh.

Your Weather Planner

A cold front moving into the region will become stationary today and be the focal point for mainly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. The unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue as the front lifts north Thursday night and Friday. Don't be surprised if a storm or two briefly becomes strong with gusty winds.

Another cold front moves in Saturday, bringing more showers and storms, but appears to exit in time to allow for a nearly dry Sunday.
