1. N.C. teen arrested in mass shooting at holiday weekend party in S.C.
A North Carolina teen has been arrested in the shooting of 10 people at a party over the Memorial Day weekend near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, police say. A 16-year-old will be charged with eight counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the May 25 shooting in Little River, South Carolina.
2. 20-year-old arrested in mass shooting that killed 1, injured 11 in Catawba, officials say
Police arrested a 20-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a mass shooting at a house party in Catawba County early Sunday morning, according to the sheriff’s office. One person died and 11 were injured in the shooting. Investigators arrested Garon Nathaniel Killian, of Lenoir, in connection with the shooting.
3. Former Solstice East resident speaks out on treatment centers as Asheville Academy faces scrutiny
Asheville Academy has come under intense scrutiny after two children died by suicide last month. The therapeutic boarding school formerly known as Solstice East said it has decided to close and had arranged for all students to leave by May 31, a spokesperson said Tuesday.
