Good morning, North Carolina! Here's what you need to know today.

Donald Trump made little effort to stay on message Wednesday at a rally in North Carolina that his campaign billed as a big economic address, mixing pledges to slash energy prices and “unleash economic abundance” with familiar off-script tangents on Democratic nominee Kamala Harris’ laugh, the mechanics of wind energy and President Joe Biden’s son.

Your Weather Planner

Temperatures will be cooler than average again this morning, with lows in the low to mid-60s almost statewide. We'll see upper 60s near the coast, but lows in the 50s are likely in the higher elevations.

The afternoon remains quiet with sunshine and clouds mixed in for most of the afternoon. The only small chance of rain will be in the foothills and mountains, but it would be brief and very light.

As a cold front approaches Friday, the chances of rain will go up but should be isolated across the western part of the state.
