Before Donald Trump accepted the Republican Party nomination for president for a third time Thursday night in the final day of the Republican National Convention, Alina Habba, an attorney for Trump who has been outspoken on his behalf as he faces multiple high-profile legal cases, praised the former president as a “friend” who “championed my journey.”
The leaders of the Senate and House Republicans’ campaign arms opened up the final night of the RNC by making the case that winning majorities in Congress will be a key to a successful Trump term.
Saying it was his greatest honor to serve as Central Intelligence Agency director and U.S. Secretary of State under former President Trump, Mike Pompeo listed what he saw as the accomplishments of his former boss.
