Good morning, North Carolina! Here's what you need to know today.
Your Weather Planner
Clouds and showers crossed the state Tuesday with much cooler temperatures than the numbers we had to start the week. A cold front will bring a windy and rainy day across the state before cooler weather arrives.
The cold front will approach during the morning, and move through in the afternoon with strong southerly wind ahead of it. This will help temperatures warm into the 60s and 70s.
The front will move through the state quickly, going from the mountains by the early afternoon, through the Piedmont by the afternoon commute, and then off the coast by the evening hours. While no severe weather is forecast, a few storms will be possible with some gusty wind and lightning. Periods of heavy rain are also likely, but flooding is not expected.
Thursday will be a quieter and much cooler day with temperatures mainly in the upper 40s to low and mid-50s.
