We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

Active weather continues as a cold front slowly moves through the state. Storms will taper off overnight followed by a chance for a few showers Friday morning. We'll end up in the lower to middle 60s at sunrise for a mild start to the day.

After catching a break in the rain late in the morning, storms will start developing in the afternoon as temperatures are peaking in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Showers and storms may not be widespread, so some areas will miss the rain, but be prepared for another chance for severe weather as storms move through in the afternoon and evening.

Storms will again be capable of producing large hail and damaging winds with heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. These are not expected to last late into the night, with much of the activity ending shortly after sunset.

That will end a stormy pattern for the area, leading to a mostly dry and cooler Mother's Day weekend. Be prepared to see that chance for rain increase on Sunday should the latest trend hold true.
