AUSTIN, Texas – After thousands of runners took a 26.2-mile tour of the Capital City on Sunday, many of them are waking up Monday morning looking for ways to recover.

This week's Sunrise Sweat gives you a post-workout way to recover. Anchor Stef Manisero stopped by US Cryotherapy in Austin to get some help in the recovery process.

The chambers are 100 percent nitrogen free and briefly expose you to sub-below temperatures. The goal is rapidly decrease the skin’s temperature by 30 to 45 degrees to stimulate central nervous system.

Cryotherapy facts:

  • Buffer room is -20 degrees for first 15 seconds
  • Main room gets around -150 degrees
  • Goal to drop body temperature by 30 to 45 degrees
