Good evening, North Carolina. We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

Expect cloudy skies and some light rain in the western part of the state tonight. The cool air should scour out early Thursday as gusty winds will bring in warmer air.

Statewide, temperatures will begin to rise on Thursday, with some areas possibly reaching 90 degrees for the first time this year on Friday. We will probably see some record high temperatures Friday or Saturday.

A front will move into the area Sunday night into Monday, bringing our next significant chance for rain. The threat of severe weather during that time is uncertain for now. At least 1-2 inches of rain will be possible during that time.
