Expect booming peak color across much of NYS this weekend.

What You Need To Know

  • Near-peak to peak color is expected for many this weekend

  • The heart of the Adirondacks is now past peak

  • We're expecting mostly dry weather this weekend for leaf peeping

Fall color has really come along over the past week outside of the higher elevations. While there’s still great color in the Adirondacks, the High Peaks region is now past peak. Look for peak color this weekend from the Catskills, across the Southern Tier and out into western N.Y. The Thousand Island Region will also see peak color this weekend.

The Adirondacks

After another week where we saw clashing seasons, this weekend’s foliage will be the best the rest of the season has to offer.

Central & Western N.Y.

Near-peak to peak color will be seen this weekend across much of CNY and WNY. Here are some recent fall scenes from the western two-thirds of the state.

This weekend’s weather looks to cooperate for all your leaf peeping plans. Rain chances will remain super low both days, with many areas getting through the entire weekend completely dry. The best chance for a few showers looks to be Sunday up across Northern N.Y.
