In the two weeks after George Floyd’s death, North Carolina has experienced protests, riots, and a memorial. So, where do we go from here?
On this week’s edition of Tying It Together with Tim Boyum, we’ll talk with two of our state's African American sheriffs, Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin and Mecklenburg County Sheriff Garry McFadden. Both men are blunt and passionate about the issues facing law enforcement, the black community, and society.
Peterkin played a huge role in planning George Floyd’s North Carolina memorial service while working with Floyd's family, and McFadden has spent nearly 40 years of his life in law enforcement.
Later, we’ll play an interview from our riot coverage with a business owner that captured the hearts of viewers both on air and online. Tim and Ben will also share their own experiences covering both the riots and Floyd’s memorial.
