Just before noon Friday, Greensboro Police got a call about a snake "preventing the driver from entering a vehicle."

Officers showed up to find a large python near the 1400 block of Battleground Avenue northwest of downtown. 

"Thank you to Guilford County Animal Control for coming and saving the day! A very slippery situation, indeed," the Greensboro Police Department said on social media, sharing a photo of the snake. 

The snake officially measured in at 9 feet.

"Animal Control has since taken custody of it and cleared the scene," police said Friday afternoon.
