Partial skeletal human remains were found in the case of Blake and London Deven, but it has not been confirmed who they belong to, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a press release Friday. 

The remains were sent to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, but have not been identified yet. Testing could take weeks to months, and may not lead to a positive identification, according to police. 

The department said that information from Fayetteville Police and the FBI led detectives to locate the remains. They were not located at the Deven home on Berriedale Drive, which was searched by authorities last week. 

Fayetteville police said that no new information will be released at this time. 

What we know so far

The police are looking for Blake and London Deven. Police said family members told them Blake Deven has not been seen for "several years" and would now be 17 years old. London Deven, who is now 27, has not been seen since 2019, according to police. Both lived with the same foster family, who moved to Fayetteville in 2015.

"While conducting interviews in a separate police investigation, several members of Blake's family reported they have not seen him in several years. On March 27, 2024, the Fayetteville Police Department and the FBI searched three locations in Fayetteville, North Carolina, as part of the expanding investigation to find Blake," FBI officials said.

Investigators with the FBI and Fayetteville police searched the old Deven home on April 8. Authorities closed Berriedale Drive in Fayetteville as they searched a home in a residential neighborhood. There was a heavy police presence, including FBI agents, a forensics team and K9 units. 

It was the second time the home was searched, being searched once before on April 5. The Deven family moved to the area in 2015, but no longer live there.

Authorities are asking anyone who has encountered Blake, London, or the Deven family since 2015 to contact authorities. Officers are still attempting to piece together the timeline of the relatives’ disappearances.

Felicia Chandler, Blake’s biological mother, posted on Facebook Wednesday asking for the public’s help finding her son. She said Blake’s birth name is Trenton Dewayne Shuler, and was changed when “he was tak[en] from me” and given to a foster family.

After investigating the disappearance of Blake, authorities identified London Deven as a possible missing relative of Blake Deven. London Deven, 27 years old, was last seen in Fayetteville in 2019, according to investigators. The most recent photo available to investigators is from approximately 2007, when she was likely 12 years old. 

Police say while conducting interviews in a separate investigation, members of Blake's family reported that they had not seen him in "several years." It's not clear how long it's been since he was last seen. 

"Due to the unusual circumstances of his reported disappearance, the Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit, which also investigates missing and endangered persons, is leading the investigation," police said. 

The police department has repeatedly asked for the public's help to find Blake and London Deven and piece together the timeline of their disappearance. Fayetteville police and the FBI searched three locations on March 27 as part of the investigation into Deven's disappearance.

The last photo of Blake Deven available to investigators is from approximately 2012. 

The FBI added a poster of Blake Deven to its missing persons webpage and will release it on its social media accounts. 

"Detectives and Special Agents are following a number of leads and have conducted interviews to gather information to locate Blake," police said.
