MORRISVILLE, N.C. — The Federal Aviation Administration determined a plane part that was found outside a Raleigh home Tuesday morning was from a plane that was missing part of a wing flap after landing at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Raleigh police say they were called after a piece of an airplane was found blocking a driveway.
The FAA said a wing flap from a Delta Air Lines flight landing at the airport fell off during a flight the same morning.
After an inspection of the Boeing 737-900 plane, Delta told the FAA part of a wing flap was missing.
The FAA investigated and later said the part was from the plane.
