LINDEN, N.C. — A Cumberland County school bus crashed and ended up upside-down off the road just after 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the sheriff's office.

There were no life-threatening injuries, the sheriff's office said, but eveyone on board Cumberland County School Bus 403 was taken to the hospital "to be checked out."

The crash happened on the 2000 block of Slocomb Road, a wooded area north of Fayetteville, near the Cape Fear River. The road was shut down Thursday morning.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
