WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The cheerleaders at Winston-Salem State are gaining attention.
Members of the team were flown out to California to be featured in R&B singer Ciara's new "Jump" music video.
The team's dance captain Destiny Martin says Ciara reached out to them via social media.
They worked together to create dance moves for the artist and are thankful for the opportunity.
“It’s encouraging us to tell us to keep pushing," Martin said. "Because we’re all pretty creative, and we came up with that. And it's seen worldwide right now, so it’s just like props to us.”
This isn’t the first time the team has been recognized. Video of their natural curls and steps also landed them on the talk show “The Real."
