CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools says graduation isn't canceled at this point, but it's unclear what exactly it may look like.

Next week CMS will send out a survey to high school seniors to get their thoughts on what they would like to see. The district says nothing is off the table.

CMS Superintendent Earnest Winston says it's unclear when students might return for fall classes and what school will exactly look. What's clear is that it will be very different than what families are used to.

“We will more than likely be social distancing. We will potentially have to consider students going to schools in shift to accommodate the safety measures,” Winston says.

The district has created a call center for families to get information about support services and virtual learning. The phone number is 980-343-3001 and is open Monday through Friday from 8-4 p.m.
