NORTH CAROLINA -- Big changes are in store for our Tuesday.

First of all, it will be a lot cooler. The mountains will only be in the 40s. The Piedmont will be around 60 with upper 60s near the coast.

Next is the chance for rain. Rain will spread from west to east. The mountains get it first. The Piedmont regions will see the best chances developing during the afternoon. Coastal zones will see the rain ramp up by Tuesday evening. Gusty winds will be an issue for the coast as well.

The rain and wind continues through Wednesday morning. We improve later Wednesday with drier and milder weather returning for Thursday and Friday.
