CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The man arrested for allegedly killing NoDa sandwich shop co-owner Scott Brooks has been additionally charged with the deaths of two people found in a car on Saturday, January 11.

On March 27, detectives served warrants on Terry Connor Jr. charging him with first degree murder, two counts of first degree kidnapping, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy, and first degree burglary in connection to the deaths of Asa Shannon, 35, and Siojvon Joseph, 35.

On January 11, officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were called to the scene of a vehicle down an embankment on Atando Avenue. Police say they found Shannon and Joseph dead inside the vehicle.

The full details surrounding their deaths have not yet been released.

Connor is currently in custody for the death of Scott Brooks, who was killed while opening his restaurant on December 9, 2019.

Two additional suspects have already been charged in connection to Shannon and Joseph's deaths.

Everett Connor, 32, was arrested on January 29 in connection to the deaths of Shannon and Joseph. He is charged with two counts of first degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of first degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and felony breaking and entering.

The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Steven Staples, 30, at a home in northeast Charlotte on Thursday, February 6. Officials say Staples is also responsible for the deaths of Shannon and Joseph. Staples is also charged with the murder of Andres Moscotte, 23, in Hickory.

On January 23, Hickory Police say the girlfriend of Andres Moscotte called to report her boyfriend had been shot in the front yard of a home on 22nd Street NE. The girlfriend told officers Moscotte was arguing with the suspects outside prior to the shooting. She reportedly found him lying in the front yard with a gunshot wound and his 2006 Mercedes Benz missing from the driveway.

The vehicle was later recovered, unoccupied, following a single vehicle accident on D Avenue Southeast.

Hickory investigators say they believe Moscotte knew the suspects and was targeted for robbery.

Staples is charged with two counts of first degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of first degree kidnapping, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and felony breaking and entering in the deaths of Shannon and Joseph. He is charged with first degree murder in the death of Moscotte.

Police say Staples was also served with additional warrants out of Concord charging him with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, breaking and entering, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

On January 26, authorities say Jalen Witherspoon, 22, turned himself in in connection to Moscotte’s death. He is charged with first degree murder.
