MATTHEWS, N.C. — The first week back from winter break isn’t easy for students. However, students at Levine College Middle School in Matthews got a surprise Tuesday that made it a lot easier.
- Belk announced it will pay for the school’s entire prom
- Not only is the venue and DJ covered but Belk is also paying for haircuts and makeup, along with suits and dresses for the students to keep
- Belk has paid for proms before but this was the first one at CMS
Belk announced it will pay for the school’s entire prom.
Not only is the venue and DJ covered but Belk is also paying for haircuts and makeup, along with suits and dresses for the students to keep.
“Never in a million years did I ever think it would come to this grandiose gift we have been blessed with,” said Levine English teacher and CMS Teacher of the Year Kim Tuttle.
This year’s prom will likely be a lot different than last year. Tuttle says only about half of the students went last year. According to her, one of the reasons was cost.
Belk has paid for proms before but this was the first one at CMS.
