ROBESON COUNTY, North Carolina -- According to Northwood’s Fire and Rescue, one of its firefighters is recovering in a hospital after a tree struck his vehicle Thursday.
The department stated the unnamed firefighter was reporting to the Tolarsville station when a tree struck his personal vehicle.
He became trapped in the vehicle, and when fellow firefighters and EMS arrived at the scene he was extricated and received medical treatment.
The firefighter is being treated at nearby Southeastern Health in Lumberton. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
