ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – The Little League Softball World Series championship team out of Rowan County is continuing to celebrate their victory.

Wednesday Congressman Richard Hudson announced that the team has been invited to the White House. This comes after the teams head coach tweeted at the president, asking if the team could be invited.

Local politicians got on board and sparked the President's response team members say they are excited.

"It's a really big honor and I can't believe it. And I think Washington D.C. is just such a cool and remarkable place to go and see," Andi Evans, a member of the winning team, said.

Assistant coach Chris Evans says that details are still being worked out to determine a day where the team will visit the White House.
