NORTH CAROLINA -- Heavy thunderstorms will continue to develop across the state. A slow moving low pressure system over western Tennessee will continue to drive tropical moisture our way from the Gulf of Mexico. It is a very wet scenario with a significant flash flood threat for most of us that will last into next week. Landslides and mudslides will be possible for the foothills and the mountains. Flooding could be quite serious in some areas so please be safe out there. Remember to "turn around, don't drown." Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway.
