RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper has ordered that flags be lowered in honor of the two young men who lost their lives this week at UNC-Charlotte.
- Flags are to be lowered until May 8.
- It is in honor of the two students killed at UNC-Charlotte this week.
- Governor Cooper released a statement on the matter.
Flags are to be lowered effective immediately through Wednesday, May 8.

In a statement the governor said, "The shooting at UNC Charlotte has left our state with a heavy heart this week. We saw a swift, coordinated and brave response and we must put that effort into preventing future tragedies. On behalf of the entire state, I extend our deepest condolences to the victims, loved ones and UNCC campus community during this difficult time. We are grieving with you."
