If you were awake early Monday morning, you might have felt the earth move if you were in the Triad.
The United States Geological Survey reported a minor earthquake in the Triad region before sunrise on Monday.
The small tremor measured 2.3 on the Richter Scale and occurred at 3:24 am local time. The center of the earthquake was just southeast of Guthrie, North Carolina.
There were no reports of damage.
Small quakes like this are common in North Carolina, especially in western North Carolina.
At the end of March, another tremor occurred in the Triad. A 2.6 earthquake was reported near the Guilford-Randolph County line. As with Monday morning's quake, no damage was reported with that earthquake as well.
