CALDWELL COUNTY -- Caldwell County Animal Control is now searching for Dieron Ruff on animal cruelty charges.

Ruff was renting a home in Lenoir and when he was evicted the homeowner found two dead dogs in the backyard.

The homeowner says the dogs were starved to death and tied to trees with no food or water outside a home covered in filth.

The homeowner says clothes were piled two feet high and food was all over the floor.

He found rats and roaches along with drugs.

He doesn't understand how someone could live like this and kill two innocent dogs.

"I care about the dogs and the kids. They have two small children that lives in the house with cockroaches falling from doors with rats that ran right across the clothes when we were standing there. Dogs starving in the backyard,” said Kirk.
