ST. LOUIS — From being immersed in the arts to tasting fine wines, there are several events happening in the St. Louis area this weekend, Sept. 7-8.
The 31st annual St. Louis Art fair is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Clayton.
The event will feature artists from across the country, diverse performances, children’s activities, delectable food from area restaurants and more.

The annual Manchester Homecoming festival and carnival is Saturday and Sunday at Schroeder Park.
The event will feature live music, carnival rides and games, a parade, a children’s corner, a petting zoo, bingo, raffle, food and more.

Arnold’s annual Pooch Plunge is Saturday at the Arnold Recreation Center Outdoor Pool.
Small dogs under 35 pounds can swim from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and large dogs that are over 35 pounds can swim from 1-3 p.m.

St. Charles is hosting its first wine festival Saturday from 3-8 p.m. on 2nd Street in Frenchtown.
Wine enthusiasts can sip on “exquisite” wines while listening to live music and munching on “mouthwatering” bites. They also can explore “one-of-a-kind” treats.

Pet owners and their furry friends can help Purina turn paw prints into renewable electricity Saturday at 7 p.m. during Westport Plaza’s CITY SC watch party.
Purina is capturing electricity produced from thousands of pets and their owners through a walkway by using innovative technology.
The electricity will be turned into 12-volt batteries and donated to the APA Adoption Center in St. Louis.
