ST. LOUIS — From sipping on specialty cocktails to watching fresh takes on holiday classics, there are several events happening in the St. Louis area this weekend, Dec. 21-22.

Holiday markets

Tower Grove Farmers’ Market will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market offers a variety of local meat vendors, produce farmers and food producers, from holiday roasts to pantry staples.

The Boulevard Farmers’ Market will happen from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

This will be the last market of the year. Shoppers can get their last minute gifts and local goods for their holiday feasts.

Frosted pop-up bar

A holiday cocktail experience called Frosted will take place Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. at the Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park.

Guests can indulge on curated holiday cocktails, strike a pose at the holiday-themed selfie station and shop locally with Polished Prints.

Entry is free and no reservations required. A portion of proceeds will benefit Tower Grove Park.

Nutcracker performance

Two performances of the “Ellington Strayhorn Nutcracker” will take place Saturday at the Skip Viragh Center for the Arts.

The Saint Louis Dance Theatre and Jazz St. Louis partnered to present the innovative spin on classic ballet “The Nutcracker” by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.

Remix of "A Christmas Carol”

The St. Louis Shakespeare Festival welcomed the return of “Christmas Carol: The Remix” this season, which is being performed at the .ZACK Theatre Saturday and Sunday.

The show is a modern take on Dickens' classic tale, “A Christmas Carol.

Created by the acclaimed Q Brothers, Ebenezer Scrooge is transformed by the ghosts of Hip-Hop past, present and future and on a journey of rhythm and redemption,

The high-energy, quick-change musical is set to a thrilling soundtrack that ranges from reggae to rock.
