HONOLULU — The color gold will illuminate Honolulu Hale from sundown on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, to sunrise on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the request of Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi to honor Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Throughout the U.S., Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is celebrated every May and recognizes the contributions and achievements of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.
“The lighting of Honolulu Hale serves as a powerful reminder of the remarkable impact Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and all Pacific Islanders continue to make in our communities in the City and County of Honolulu each and every day,” said a news release from the City and County of Honolulu.
