HONOLULU — The City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Community Services WorkHawaii Division will hold its last hiring event of the year, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Nov. 4, at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. The event is free with an $8 parking fee.
WorkHawaii is inviting up to 150 employers — government offices, for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations — to the event, as well as job seekers looking to further their careers or explore a different career path.
WorkHawaii will provide an onsite resource center with laptops and printers for job seekers to edit or print their resumes or fill out digital job applications.
“I am thrilled to see our community come together to connect job seekers with employers,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi in a news release. “We understand that a thriving community starts with opportunities for everyone. Our commitment to fostering economic growth and prosperity is unwavering, and events like these underscore our dedication to creating a stronger and more inclusive city.
“I want to thank all the participants, employers and job seekers for their enthusiasm and engagement. Together, we are all building a brighter future for Honolulu, and I look forward to continued collaboration and success in the year ahead,” said Blangiardi.
Prior to the hiring event, job seekers are invited to sign up for free workshops with topics such as applying for positions with the City & County of Honolulu, resume writing and interview skills.
Workshops will be held in person at the WorkHawaii office in the Dole Cannery Office Building, suite 700, on Nov. 2, with a virtual option. The morning session is 10-11:30 a.m.; afternoon session is noon-1:30 p.m.
“We're excited to offer our community a unique opportunity to connect with employers during the holiday season,” said WorkHawaii Business Services Coordinator Mark Menard. “This event embodies our commitment to promoting economic prosperity and providing job seekers with a chance to secure meaningful employment, making the holiday season even brighter for families across Honolulu.”
Though optional, job seekers are encouraged to register.
Employers looking to provide opportunities for job seekers at the Nov. 4 event can fill out the Hiring Event Employer Registration Form or call Menard at 808-768-5784.
The next WorkHawaii event will be on Jan. 9, 2024.
