TEXAS — More than a year after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and just a few short months since Texas Governor Greg Abbott lifted the mask mandate, Fourth of July fireworks celebrations have returned to Texas, and they’re bigger than ever before.

EL PASO

In May, county commissioners voted to ban the sale of aerial fireworks, commonly known as sticks and fins, for the July 4th holiday season. Here's a link to El Paso's fireworks safety regulation

The 44th Annual People's Parade, sponsored by the El Paso Del Norte Lions Club, will start at 9 a.m. July 4 at Hanks High School.

Abundant Living churches will have Fourth of July celebrations with fireworks at both campuses. The special services will be at 7 p.m., followed by the fireworks displays at 1000 Valley Crest, and 7100 N. Desert Blvd. Nursery, pre-school and kids classes are available during service.

The El Paso County Parks & Recreation Department — 4th of July Fireworks at Ascarate Park. Activities begin at 3 p.m. and will include food trucks, swimming and fireworks in the evening.

In Horizon, there are plans for a 4th of July Festival with a fireworks show at Idea School campus, 201 Horizon Crossing, beginning at 5 p.m. 

Wet’N Wild Fireworks — The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the fireworks show at 9 p.m. 

Western Playland — The 4th of July Fireworks Celebration will be at 9:30 p.m.

The Gin Blossoms and Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats will perform at the Pat and Lou Sisbarro Community Park, 3205 Arrowhead Drive, on the New Mexico State University campus starting at 6 p.m.
