SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan was fined $25,000 for throwing a basketball towards an official and into the stands on Saturday.
- Received a technical foul and was ejected
- Had 19 points prior to the ejection
- Said he was frustrated by the offensive foul call
DeRozan was given one technical foul and ejected with 5:01 reaming in the fourth quarter during a loss against the Denver Nuggets in Game 4 of their playoff series.
He had 19 points prior to the ejection. During the postgame press conference, he said he thought the official’s foul call was a bad one.
"Frustration," DeRozan said. "I mean, I thought it was a bad call."
Head Coach Gregg Popovich’s opinion of the ejection was inclusive.
“Did you see me? I continued to coach the game. I didn’t say anything to him,” Popovich said.
The Spurs play the Nuggets in Denver on Tuesday for Game 5.
