AUSTIN, Texas — Former President Donald Trump will be traveling to Austin on Friday.

Trump will be giving a press conference at 12:30 pm, resulting in road closures upon his arrival.

Expect a full closure of all lanes on Highway 71 between Highway 183 and Woodward Street, which is near St. Edward’s University. Highway 183 between Highway 71 and Burleson Road, near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, will also be closed.

The City of Austin recommends public transportation and to avoid parking along these routes.

I-35 is not expected to have any closures.

Those who are heading to the airport later in the day should prepare by considering alternate routes and allowing ample time for arrival.

As Trump heads to Austin, his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, will be holding a rally in Houston.

Democratic Senate candidate Rep. Colin Allred will join Harris in Houston and Sen. Ted Cruz will join Trump in Austin.
