TEXAS – Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, the top Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, on Tuesday via Twitter announced he has tested positive for COVID-19, is quarantining, and is set to begin treatment on Wednesday.

“Tonight the Office of House Physician informed me that I’ve tested positive for Covid-19 & am quarantined. As recommended, I received a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine Dec 18 & also recently tested negative for Covid on New Years Day. Begin treatment tomorrow. Shld be fine.”

Brady is not alone. More than 50 members of Congress have tested positive for COVID-19 since the outset of the pandemic.

On Monday, Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, reported she had tested positive but remains asymptomatic. She also received the first of two vaccination injections in December.
