AUSTIN, Texas – Tickets for the drive-thru Trail of Lights are now available for purchase.
The Austin City Council voted in September to extend the dates of the annual holiday event in order to allow more people to attend. This year it will begin on November 28 and end on January 3.
The annual event usually allows participants to walk their way through thousands of lights in Austin’s Zilker Park, but this year it will turn into a drive-thru in order to accommodate social distancing because of the pandemic.
Vehicle passes range from $25 to $35 plus tax and processing fees. The price will depend on what date and time you choose to attend.
Ticket holders will choose what date and time they want and will have an hour block they must enter the trail between.
Up to nine people are allowed inside each vehicle, but any vehicle with more than 10 people can purchase a second pass for the same date and time.
Tickets can only be purchased online in advance; they will not be selling passes at the entrance.
There are also passes for an additional cost that include early entry and gifts like holiday cookies and bottled water.
