AUSTIN, Texas — Large crowds are expected to converge on the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday when No. 9 Texas faces No. 6 LSU.
ESPN’s College GameDay will broadcast live from the LBJ Library lawn ahead of the game. This is the first time the show has made it to UT since the 2009 season when the school hosted Texas Tech.
Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. Expect more traffic on Interstate 35, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Dean Keeton Street and anywhere near the stadium. With all the road and foot traffic, it can be difficult to even get to the game.
Tip on Getting Around:
- Avoid I-35 between Riverside Drive and 38th Street. It is usually quicker to take Mopac or Lamar Boulevard and head east to get to the stadium.
- If you are going to the stadium in a car, be sure to look at UT’s parking map. The map denotes parking areas, rideshare drop-off areas, and traffic control points. The public parking fee is $30.
- Consider taking the bus. Capital Metro provides a great alternative to game day traffic congestion and high parking fees. There are six routes that operate every 15 minutes between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m.
