AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin FC, the city’s first major league sports team, announced a multi-year agreement with St. David’s HealthCare on Wednesday.

  • Deal makes St. David's first founding corporate partner
  • Also official health care partner and training partner

The deal makes the Central Texas-based hospital system the first founding corporate partner and official health care partner, training partner, and performance center naming rights partner of Austin’s Major League Soccer Club—which will be named St. David’s Performance Center.

“St. David’s HealthCare will be key to providing high-quality medical care for our players while also creating a safe environment at all matches and events for our stadium guests,” said Anthony Precourt, chairman and chief executive officer of Austin FC and Precourt Sports Ventures.

The St. David’s Performance Center is scheduled to open in advance of Austin FC’s inaugural season and will serve as the world-class training and medical-care facility for Austin FC’s First Team and Academy teams.

During the meeting, several protesters could be seen outside expressing their frustration over taxes involving Austin FC.

Once Austin FC’s stadium opens in March 2021, St. David’s HealthCare will provide health care services at all Austin FC home matches and events for stadium guests. Additionally, St. David’s HealthCare will provide health and wellness services for all Austin FC players and coaching staff.
