AUSTIN, Texas – A body was found in Lady Bird Lake after he was swept away under the South 1st Street bridge during severe thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Austin/Travis County EMS responded to a report of person caught in swift water at 800 W 9th Street around 1 p.m.
STAR Flight was called to help locate the person. The crew in the helicopter located a body that appears to be motionless in the lake.
Medics at the scene confirmed that the body found was a man in his 50s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The city is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning with heavy rain and winds up to 60 mph.
