AUSTIN, Texas – A severe thunderstorm warning expired Wednesday for Travis and Williamson counties. Flash flood watches are in remain effect for numerous Central Texas counties, however.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning: until 2 p.m.
- Southwestern Williamson County
- Northern Travis County
- Robertson County
- Milam County
Flash Flood Warning: until 3:15 p.m.
- Hays County
- Comal County
Since soils are already saturated from recent rainfall, flash flooding could occur at any time without notice. Following Wednesday's storm, the Pedernales River was projected to crest roughly a foot about the major flood stage. The water empties into Lake Travis, which will likely lead to a noticeable rise.
Several low water crossings are closed in Austin and the surrounding area.
